Begun in 1997, this outreach seeks to take an engaged couple through the entire process of planning and experiencing this sacred time in their life.

The first step is for the couple to get in touch with Pam Taylor , the wedding coordinator at First Baptist Belton for the past 17 years. She can be reached at (254) 760-8855 and she will schedule the wedding. Since the church has so many activities going on, it is recommended to reserve a wedding date six to eight months in advance when possible.

After Mrs. Taylor solidifies the date on the church calendar, she will set up the initial meeting with the bride and groom. She is the full-time wedding coordinator and will be able to meet at your convenience. Parents and siblings are welcome to attend the initial walk-through session. After that, only the bride and groom attend the planning meetings, which will occur once per month until the wedding. If the couple lives out of town or is in school, the planning meetings are scheduled accordingly. Both bride and groom are required to attend, unless one is deployed.

Rehearsal dinners (usually hosted by the groom’s family) and receptions are held away from the church, as we do not provide facilities for such events. The bride and groom will be given a vendor list showing previous couples’ favorite places for receptions, rehearsal dinners, photographers, musicians, caterers, videographers, DJs, etc.

A Timeline for Wedding Day is an important part of the planning. Every detail of the wedding will be covered in the planning meetings, so that the wedding is exactly as the bride and groom desire.

The wedding coordinator will direct all planning meetings, the decoration of the worship center on the Friday morning before the wedding, the rehearsal on Friday evening, and all activities on wedding day. Only the official First Baptist Belton wedding coordinator may be used.

The wedding ministry prepares a lovely dressing area for the bride and her attendants. Tables with individual mirrors, a medicine/needs table, a hair accessories table, a steamer, ironing board, a iron are provided. The dressing room is decorated in the bride’s wedding colors.

The member fee for the entire package (facilities and coordinator) is $800; for non-members the fee is $1500. A non-refundable deposit of $200 holds the date. Checks are made to First Baptist Belton. On the memo line, please put the last names of the couple.

Included in the fee to the church is the use of up to 350 wrought-iron candle holders in the worship center plus a tulle drape with 18 flower arrangements in the wedding colors down the middle aisle. Also included in the fee is the use of tablecloths, centerpieces, vases, platters/dishes, silk flowers in many colors, etc., for use at your reception. These are chosen before the wedding date, packed and labeled by the wedding coordinator, to be taken to the reception. These borrowed items are to be returned to the wedding coordinator on Sunday or Monday after the wedding by the parents or responsible party.

It is the desire of First Baptist Belton to help you have a wedding that is free of stress, blessed by the Lord, and which remains a beautiful memory for a lifetime.

Showers of Blessing

Serving the Families of First Baptist Belton since 1994

All showers are at First Baptist and are given for any active member of our church (or any child of a member) who marries. Showers are from 10:30-11:30 am on Saturdays and are held in room 126 except when an event has been previously scheduled in that room. In that case, showers are held upstairs in the new building in rooms 256-258. If you wish to be a hostess, call Pam at (254) 760-8855
