The first step is for the couple to get in touch with Pam Taylor who schedules all weddings. You can reach her at (254) 760-8855. Our church is a very active place, and there may be three or more other events going on in other parts of the building, so it is very important to get the date early… 8 months before the wedding, if possible.
From there, Pam Taylor will contact you and set up the first of seven planning meetings to take place in the months prior to the wedding. Both bride and groom are required to meet for three hours at a time, unless one is deployed.
Every detail of the wedding is dealt with at the meetings, so that your wedding is exactly the way you always dreamed. A 7-page vendor list is given to you at the first meeting, including information regarding musicians, photographers, videographers, caterers, and sites for the reception that have been used by brides and grooms over the past 16 years of our ministry.
As wedding coordinator, Pam Taylor will direct the planning meetings, the decoration of the sanctuary on Friday morning of the wedding, with the bride, groom, and their families assisting. Pam will direct a 5:30 rehearsal on Friday evening, with bridesmaids and groomsmen, and then the full rehearsal with the minister and family at 6:30. The rehearsal dinner is scheduled at 7:15 at the church, for an additional fee, or at a restaurant of choice.
The Wedding Ministry provides a lovely dressing area for the ladies, with tables and mirrors, steamers, medicine/needs table, etc. The men use our large choir room for their dressing area.
Included in the fee paid to the church, is the use of all our tablecloths and decorations for your reception. There is no additional cost for the use of these items. The parents or friends of the family return the borrowed items to the wedding coordinator on Monday after the wedding. We have 100+ tablecloths of various sizes. After the reception, the cloths are taken to Comet Cleaners on Main Street in Belton and the bill is pre-paid on Monday following the wedding. The wedding coordinator picks them up later in the week. Other decorations that may be taken to the reception site are: mirror tiles of all sizes, tall vases (20) and crackle glass candle holders (100), 10 white pillars—6 feet, 4 feet, 3 feet and 2 feet tall, silk flowers of all colors, wedding wreaths, serving dishes in milk glass and crystal, punch dispenser and coffee urn, 100 8″ glass plates, white baskets of all sizes, large silk arrangements in several colors, and many more.
We look forward to getting to know you and your family and helping you have the perfect wedding!!
