Totally HIS – International Missions Emphasis

lottieiconJesus says in Matthew 22:37-39, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and most important command. The second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself” (HCSB). As followers of Christ, we must give our all so people can know the love of Jesus. That’s what being totally His requires: pouring ourselves out completely to be His heart, hands and voice — individually, as a church, as Southern Baptists working cooperatively to reach all the nations. We are part of the task to fulfill the Great Commission.

Our church has the privilege of sharing the Good News of Christmas with a world desperately in need of Jesus. One way we do this as a church family is through our International Missions Emphasis and Offering in December. Our 2013 International Missions Emphasis theme is “Totally His … heart, hands, voice,” based on Matthew 22:37-39. Totally committed to God, first to love Him, then to love others. No less than all of our heart, soul and mind is what’s required of us as believers in Christ — totally His.

Please join First Baptist Belton December 1-8 as we pray for our international missionaries in a season of focused prayer. Look for your prayer guide in the mail or in the church foyer. Giving is also a call to obedience and sacrifice. More than half the world’s people groups are still unreached and people are dying every day without ever having heard the Gospel. The Lottie Moon Christmas Offering® enables our IMB missionaries to live and work at the forefront of lostness and extend our witness through their full-time ministry. First Baptist Belton has set a three-tier goal for our 2013 Christmas Offering:

$100,000 – Base Goal

$110,000 – Challenge Goal

$120,000 – Celebration Goal

Every penny of the Lottie Moon Christmas offering supports our 4,822 international missionaries.

  • Because of your giving, our missionaries and their national partners recently:
    • Presented the Gospel to more than 1.4 million individuals
    • Baptized more than 266,000 new believers
    • Started more than 24,000 churches
    • Engaged 133 new people groups

Your prayers and gifts are making a difference. Thank you for your commitment to see Christ shared to the ends of the earth.
