ARCHIVE: Pray for First Baptist Temple

You are currently viewing an archived news item.

Friends,

Our hearts are broken for our brothers and sisters in Christ at First Baptist Temple this morning. At this moment, it appears that their worship center, offices, and much of their education space is a total loss. I have spoken with the pastor, Martin Knox, and assured him of our prayers. I have offered any assistance that we can give.

As for now, please pray. I know that God will be glorified, and I know that First Baptist Temple will emerge from this a stronger church. But right now, they are grieving and shocked, as we would be if it had been here. If I learn of other things that we can do, I will alert you.

Kim Hardin has already received many calls from parents who have their children in the FBCT Day Care and need a place for their children. Pray for Kim as she responds in the best way that she can.

I grew up in this church and was baptized there and R.D. and I were married there almost 54 years ago. I have wonderful memories and was nurtured and loved by many wonderful Christians there. I am deeply saddened. God bless their congregation.
