About Us
The youth ministry at First Baptist exists to connect youth with God, people, and the world. We work hard to create environments that are genuine, relational, Bible-based, and applicable because we want to be intentional about life-change. The basis for what we teach is summed up in 7 core characteristics. These seven areas are methodically taught during weekly activities as well as highlighted during retreats and special events throughout their time in the youth ministry. The 7 core characteristics are:
- Authentic Faith – God can be trusted. He will do all He’s promised to do.
- Spiritual Disciplines – When you see as God sees, you will do as God says.
- Moral Boundaries – Purity paves the way to intimacy.
- Healthy Friendships – Your friendships determine the direction and quality of your life.
- Wise Choices – You could be one choice away from making or breaking your future. Walk wisely.
- Ultimate Authority – Maximum freedom is found under God’s authority.
- Others First – When you make yourself nothing, you’re really something.
