Adults Ministry

Small Groups

The heart of the adult ministry at First Baptist is the Sunday morning small groups at 9:45. Bible study is offered for adults at every age & stage of life. Find the location of your small group here.

Fellowships

Recognizing that “meeting together” (Hebrews 10:25) is a vital part of the Christian life, each age level small group has fellowships throughout the year. Some departments have monthly dinners out together.

In an effort to stimulate cross-generational activities and to allow time for members to just “hang out,” there are scheduled church-wide fellowships after the evening service in the church gym many times each year.

Support Groups

Fresh Start Divorce Recovery – This 5-week support group is held twice a year, or as needed. There is a workbook to be purchased for $15 to be used in this interactive group.

Super Senior Support Breakfast – Quarterly, on the last Thursday, widows and widowers are invited for breakfast and short entertainment. Some months breakfast is cooked at the church, and some months participants are asked to bring their favorite breakfast food to share. Occasionally, meetings are held in the clubhouse of an apartment complex where our members reside.

Grief Support Groups – Meet as needed.

Senior Adults

The Golden Age Club meets the 1st Tuesday of each month. A covered dish meal is served, and a speaker or other form of entertainment is provided. The group also goes on monthly trips, including a mission trip to the border. An annual “Big Trip” has included such places as Washington, D.C., the Northeast, Canada, and a Carribean cruise. Call Larry Putman at (254) 939-3435 for more information.

The Single Adult Ministry exists to encourage adults to mature through Bible study and participation in the various ministries of the church.
