prayer1

prayer2After an awards ceremony for his battalion, Will Alley was asked to close in prayer. Most of you will remember Will as our Military Minister.  He is now serving as the battalion chaplain for the 3/8 Cavalry.

Check out how he encourages a football-style huddle with arms around one another.  It is amazing to see Will in the center of this group of believers and non-believers, leading prayer and drawing these soldiers closer to Christ.

Please continue to pray for Will Alley and all of our nation’s military, at home and abroad.

How exciting it is to see the results of our military ministry reaching out in the flesh to an engaged unit. Will was our first military ministry intern / minister after he left active duty following his first tour in Iraq (OIF I) and enter Truitt Seminary and the U.S. Army Reserves to prepare for the chaplaincy. He was later commissioned as Chaplain (Captain) Alley and assigned as the 3-8 Cav Battalion Chaplain. This is the unit whose battalion commander, three other soldiers and their Iraqi interpreter was killed by a suicide car bomb three weeks ago. Will says it was very tough but he is absolutely convinced that this is the place God wants him to be and therefore where he wants to serve. God is clearly at work through him in this unit. Please keep Will, his units and all our service members and their families in your prayers.
