Week two update: Giving toward our church goal remained strong in week two. As of December 19, we have collected $38,087! This represents over 3,000 unreached people groups and puts us at just under fifty percent of our goal. Please continue to encourage giving amongst the family at First Baptist and praying for those who will hear the gospel because of our giving.

Week one update: Our church family has given $21,600 in just seven short days! This is over 27% of our goal and represents mission work to 1,805 unreached people groups. If you haven’t given already, please prayerfully consider doing so. If you have given, please join us in praying for the money that will be used to spread the gospel around the world in power for God’s glory.

As many of you know, the holiday season is a time when our church family sets our sights on those in need by giving of our finances and time. One of the greatest opportunities we have to give is the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for international missions. This gift is unique in that every penny given goes directly to support mission work done by thousands of Southern Baptists across our globe.

This year, our church goal is $78,000. Though this may seem like a large amount in the midst of our current economic climate, it is completely attainable if we faithfully give together – both in large and small amounts. We pray that the video above will help you better understand the gospel need for billions living around us as well as provide you with a simple way to measure your individual giving.

Remember the promise from Scripture as you prayerfully consider a gift toward the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, “All the nations you have made shall come and worship before you, O Lord, and shall glorify your name” (Psalm 86:9). Take heart in the fact that God is determined to bring the gospel to all nations and then rejoice that he allows us to serve him in this confidence.
