International Missions Emphasis

Thank you for giving $148,412.33 to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering! We have reached our Base goal of $140,000, are very close to our Challenge goal of $150,000, and not out of reach of our Celebration goal of $160,000. I know many of you have already given sacrificially and your generosity is making a true impact throughout the world. There is still time to participate in this offering; remember every penny you give goes to support our international missionaries.

International Missions Emphasis- Because of Who He Is

Starting at Thanksgiving and continuing through Christmas our church begins a special international missions emphasis and offering to thank God for His goodness. Foundational to this is concerted prayer. We will be observing our prayer emphasis for international missions November 29- December 6: The vision of the International Mission Board is for “a multitude from every language, tribe, and nation knowing and worshiping our Lord Jesus Christ.” For that to happen, we must pray diligently for the thousands of unreached people groups – billions of individuals – who don’t know Jesus as their savior. Please join the First Baptist Belton family as we pray together daily November 29- December 6 for these requests from around the world.

During the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons we also have a special offering named the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering: The Bible tells us in Deuteronomy 16:17, “Everyone must appear with a gift suited to his means, according to the blessing the Lord your God has given you”. As followers of Christ, we are called to give of the blessings we have received to bless others. Please also know as you give you are helping send and support our missionaries who share Christ’s love with the lost and hurting.  One hundred percent of the offering is used to support over 4000 international missionaries that depend on your Goddirected support.

Last year you generously gave $157,859.30 to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. This represented the largest amount our church had ever given to this offering. Our church was also recognized as one of the top 100 churches in our denomination giving to the 2014 offering that was collected from over 40,000 churches. First Baptist Belton has set a three- tier goal for our 2015 offering:  $140,000 is our base goal, $150,000 is our challenge goal, and $160,000 is our celebration goal. Let’s join with other churches across the nation to continue answering the call to give. Every dollar donated to the offering goes directly to help fund our missionaries who share the love of Jesus all over the world. By praying for our missionaries and giving to the offering, each of us plays a key role in the work God is doing to expand His kingdom.
