Honor Our Veterans – Part II

vetsSeveral of you participated in the 3rd Cavalry Squadron “Brave Rifles” 5k/10k recently. Many of you ran or volunteered in order to honor the memory of a fallen serviceman or woman.

“Wear Blue: Run to Remember” (see wearblueruntoremember.org) is another venue for running or walking in memory of friends and loved ones who have paid the ultimate sacrifice in service of our country. We will meet at 8 am on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27. As the name implies, you should wear blue if you have it, and even if you don’t we will have blue ribbons to write the names of those you wish to honor and pin to your shirt. This will be a simple, low-key event—no police at street intersections, timing chips, or cheering crowds with cowbells, just some church folks who appreciate our troops and those who have given their lives to help make the world a safer place.

If you would like to participate, feel free to come out and join us. There is no need to register or RSVP, but if you’d like more information email Melanie McCarthy at mmccarthy@pbhcpa.com or call (254) 791-3460. Please bring your own water because facilities are limited.
