Today is Distribution Day for Apple Tree at FBC Belton.  We are providing clothes for the first day of school as well as school supplies to over 1,300 kids.  Children will also receive haircuts, eye checks and immunizations.

Thanks to all of our volunteers who have purchased clothes/school supplies, sorted bags, filled out tags, moved bags, handed out bags, and given hair cuts, eye checks, and shots (ugh, no one’s favorite!).

Angel Tree starts soon, so don’t forget to volunteer for that as well!

Forms can be found in your Small Group Bible Study, picked up throughout the church or in the ‘info rack’ in the office.  You can also e-mail your registration to Karen Padgett.  Be sure to include your name and phone number.

Some classes have fees associated with them to cover materials. Fees are payable at the first class session.

Each year we come together for this rally as an opportunity to gather all workers of all age groups together in one room to be encouraged and launch into the new year. This year our theme is, “Passing the Torch” and at 6 pm Pastor Andy will give us a charge and interpret our theme. We will then be dismissed by our respective age groups to areas throughout the church for continued training in our specific area of ministry.

This is a great time to go on a date with your spouse, go out with a friend, run errands, or just take a break. Your children will have fun being taught about Jesus Christ and playing with friends in our Kingdom Kids Ministry (infants through 6th graders). If you missed August’s Military and Veterans Fellowship, please don’t miss out on September’s! We had a wonderful time full of laughter, stories, support, and encouragement. Not only that, but the food was fabulous! I am pretty sure I devoured 5 different desserts after filling up on a wonderful selection of casseroles, meats, potatoes, and salad. Don’t forget the sweet potato dumplings - WOW - so very good! We had such a great evening of sharing stories and learning from one another. I am already looking forward to next month’s event.

I have compiled a list of some of those questions and I am going to address them over the next few weeks during Sunday morning worship.

Do you have a question or questions that you have wondered about, perhaps for a long time? I would like to know what they are.

I will prayerfully consider all questions submitted. If led by the Holy Spirit, I will try to answer them over the next few weeks. Of course, I am thinking about the questions of life. I am not inviting questions about things that might be under your skin about the way I or the church does certain things (e.g. Why do you wear a coat on Sunday? Why is the music loud? Why don’t we go back to one Sunday School?). Those kinds of questions can be answered in other forums other than worship.
