Prayer for Fort Hood

As a church we ask God’s comfort for the families of those who were killed in the shooting on Fort Hood Wednesday.  We pray God would give skill to the medical personnel treating those who were injured, and ask His healing hand upon each individual.  We thank Him for the faithful service of the first responders who helped end the shooting.  We pray all Christians in the Fort Hood area would point soldiers and civilians toward the only true source of stability in a turbulent world—God’s son, Jesus Christ, the anchor of our soul (Hebrews 6:19).

As we pray, let us not forget to also look for ways we can help those affected by the incident.

Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. (ESV)
