Project Apple Tree

AppleTreeProject Apple Tree: providing school clothes and school supplies for Belton children in need.

Project Apple Tree has served the children of our community for over a decade. Again this year the opportunity is available to provide a complete outfit of new clothing (includes a pair of jeans, shirt, package of underwear, package of socks, and a pair of sport shoes) along with appropriate grade-level school supplies for economically challenged children, in grades prekindergarten through high school seniors, who will attend Belton schools.

In addition, each child receives a dental kit with toothbrush and toothpaste, a personal care kit with shampoo, bar of soap and washcloth and the opportunity for a professional haircut. Free immunizations will also be available during Distribution Day.

Attached to each clothing bag is a personalized Bible verse and parents are offered a booklet about Jesus for their child.

To sponsor children, stop by the worship center foyer on Sunday and select a red and/or yellow Apple tag. Then purchase clothing and school supplies for the child on your tag. Donated monies will be used to purchase clothing and school supplies for children who are not sponsored.

Volunteer workers are requested each morning (Monday – Thursday 9 am – 12 pm). On August 9 at 6:30 pm, we are asking the youth to be trailer volunteers. There will be ice cream sundaes served afterwards. On Distribution Day, August 12, more that 200 volunteers will be needed.

Call Jeanette Kelley at (254) 718-4514 for more information or to volunteer.
