Small Groups

The heart of the adult ministry at First Baptist is the Sunday morning small groups at 9:45. Bible study is offered for adults at every age & stage of life. Find the location of your small group here.

Fellowships

Recognizing that “meeting together” (Hebrews 10:25) is a vital part of the Christian life, each age level small group has fellowships throughout the year. Some departments have monthly dinners out together.

In an effort to stimulate cross-generational activities and to allow time for members to just “hang out,” there are scheduled church-wide fellowships after the evening service in the church gym many times each year.

Mid-Week Studies

In an effort to help us “Know Jesus more Intimately” we offer a variety of mid-week studies for couples, for men, and for women, on different days and times. Women are studying the book of James with Beth Moore on Sunday afternoon. And on Tuesday morning at 9:15 over 50 women are here studying John through Precept or attending the Mom’s Share group. Men are up early for “Iron Sharpening Iron” at 6:30 on Wednesday morning to support one another before going to work. Another exciting study on Wednesday is Tune-Up, at noon in the gym. Pastor Andy leads a short Bible study while you enjoy a great meal for $6. Or bring your sack lunch and fellowship with approximately 50-60 folks who enjoy this mid-week “pick me up.”

Are you interested in some training to help you “Serve Jesus more Passionately?” On Tuesday evening at 6:30 the Agape class teaches you how to share your faith with others in a simple way.  We also offer classes in discipleship for new believers. This opportunity allows you to meet one-on-one with another believer to learn the basics of walking with Christ. There are currently 26 trained disciplers who would be glad to walk with you through this journey.

Contact Jason Goings at the church for further information.

Senior Adults

The Golden Age Club meets the 1st Tuesday of each month. A covered dish meal is served, and a speaker or other form of entertainment is provided. The group also goes on monthly trips, including a mission trip to the border. An annual “Big Trip” has included such places as Washington, D.C., the Northeast, Canada, and a Caribbean cruise. Call Larry Putman at (254) 939-3435 for more information.

The Single Adult Ministry exists to encourage adults to mature through Bible study and participation in the various ministries of the church.

Graduates and Professionals (GAP)

Graduates and professionals between the ages of 20-30 meet at 9:45 am on Sunday in the 702 House for fellowship, music and Bible study. This active group also has a mid-week study, and a variety of social events.

The GAP is very mission-minded, participating as a group in local, state & world missions. Come get involved with the GAP and grow in the Lord. Connect with the GAP on Facebook.

Singles 1 – Synergy

Single adults between the ages of 30-40 meet for Bible study on Sunday morning at 9:45 am in room 245. Synergy is made up of active singles who want to be part of the church family. This new class encourages single parents in their walk with the Lord by hosting child-friendly events each month. However, single adults without children are also welcome for the weekly Bible study.

Singles 2

Singles 40 years plus meet at Single Best Place (SBP) for Bible study at 9:45am every Sunday. SBP is located at 7th Ave and Main St on the corner of the church property. (Look for our sign.) We are heavily involved in missions both locally, nationally and internationally either by going ourselves, support and sending others. We are prayer warriors. We are fun and enjoy doing things together whether eating out, potluck lunches or day trips around Texas both either planned or spontaneous.

If you are a single adult seeking God’s direction for your life, join us for Bible study at 9:45 am and worship at either 8:30 am (traditional) or 11 am (contemporary).
