Moms share group is an opportunity for mothers to come together, study God’s word, and encourage each other. The group meets on Tuesday mornings from 9:30-11:00 (starting this fall) and is designed for mothers of young children. Summer activities for the group can be found here.
This fall, they will be studying Captivating. Captivating, by John and Stasi Eldredge, encourages women to connect with their deepest desires. The Eldredges reveal in the first chapter what every woman’s three core desires are: to be romanced, to play a role in her own adventures and to display beauty.
Precept Bible study will start back on Tues. Sept. 9 with the study of 1 John. Precept is on Tuesday mornings from 9:15-11:30 for those who are willing to do 5-6 hrs. of homework. The two-hour class involves an hour of group discussion and an hour of video teaching. Precept is an inductive Bible study. Inductive Bible study shows you how to discover God’s Truth for yourself. The concept behind the inductive study method is to get students personally, intimately involved with the subject, observing carefully for themselves.
Precept uses a straightforward investigative approach to open the Bible and build context for each statement it contains. That’s where we find God’s precepts—or principles—for life. Inductive study is the tool used to collect those precepts to build a God-glorifying, Bible-centered worldview with clear applications to live the abundant, victorious life in Christ.

Kandy,
I was interested in the 1 John study for the fall. Do I need to sign up the boys for childcare? Caleb is 3 and Joshua is 2. We had the Kay Arthur study at our church (FBC Cove) a year ago. I loved the in depth study and would like to be involved again. I do not think they are offering it here, so I was interested in joining your group. Please let me know if that would be okay and what steps I need to take to have childcare for the boys.
Thank you,
Christy Porterfield
