We had a wonderful time last Friday night as a group of veterans and active military couples got together to break bread and fellowship.  Out of the 24 people in attendance, there were 2 active duty soldiers, 5 active duty spouses (4 with husbands deployed/training), and the remaining 17 were veterans and their spouses.  The spectrum of experiences under one roof was amazing.  From World War II to Operation Iraqi Freedom, most of our major conflicts over the past 50+ years were represented.  After plenty of fellowship and delicious food, we had an opportunity to write notes of encouragement and sign military bibles and Psalm 91 bandannas which we will send to our 14 deployed soldiers from the FBC Belton family.  Overall, it was a fun night and everyone left looking forward to next month’s fellowship.

If you missed June’s fellowship, our next one will be Friday, 18 July from 6-9 PM at Ben and Karen Padgett’s house.  Call Karen at the church (939-0705) for directions.

Again, Kingdom Kids will be available for children under 6th grade.  Go ahead and mark it down on your calendars (3rd Friday each month), and we will look forward to seeing you then!
